At a time of loss, flowers are a sensitive and expressive way of comforting the bereaved - and of paying your last respects to loved ones.  I'm Suzanne, a freelance and independent florist.  I have a great deal of experience in preparing sympathy tributes and can offer you good, practical advice about what might be appropriate.  If you would like to send a specific or unusual arrangement this can be accommodated.  I also offer support by visiting you in the peace and comfort of your home to discuss the flower options available to you if required.

Relatives and friends may liaise with me to send their floral tributes for the service, or send sympathy flowers beforehand to show their heartfelt support to the family.  Flowers may be delivered to the funeral directors or to the home address prior to the service.  I will also ensure memorial floral arrangements are delivered to the service location and for the wake if required.

Funeral flowers are usually chosen by close family members and/or a person making the funeral arrangements.  These may be casket sprays, casket crosses, sheaves, named floral tributes and personalised tributes. Name tributes are very personal and should only be sent by the family of the deceased.  Church or memorial flowers may also be considered.

Funeral wreaths are formal tributes that help bring comfort to the family.  Cushions and pillows also provide a soft personal touch. Personalised designs may be sent by relatives which could reflect something you shared together or was perhaps their favourite colour.  Sprays are also appropriate.  A posy of flowers may be presented for children.

Colleagues and friends may send a funeral tribute depicting a hobby or sport the person liked.  Sprays and sheaves are appropriate for anyone to send, a beautiful option. Sympathy flowers offer support to a grieving family.  Family wishes should be respected, for example, a preferential colour scheme.
